Enjoyed a wonderful day at this year's state fair in St. Paul, MN.  Even completed nearly 6 miles of walking and had the opportunity to check out 2 more nutrition clubs, one in Blaine, MN - Core Nutrition, and one in Arden Hills, MN - Incredible Nutrition 4 U.  This taping was my favorite part of the day though.

Midsummer Celebration

The weekend started off with a class reunion at a local golf course.  Dinner, no golf, sadly.  Then Saturday morning started what proved to be a very long day of lots of walking.  I took part in a 5K, which approximately 3.1 miles.  Then according to my fitbit, I kept it going coming up with just over 16K or just over 10 miles.  Not too bad when you consider, I probably had only 3 hours of sleep the night before due to reunion activities.  Then today was a slightly, more relaxing with church and watching a waterskiing show.

Started something new this evening to go inline with my walks I have been trying to do with my Fitbit.  I started reporting the weather here in Menahga while I am here.  To start off with it is just the temperature, precipitation if there is any and what the sky is such as today's is Mostly Sunny.  After my gauge fully calibrates, I will be adding Barometric Pressure and maybe wind speeds later.  This is sooo cool.

Quite the Adventure

Woke up this morning with very dense fog in the area.  With a normal Saturday morning ritual of getting together with some friends, was concerned whether any would show up along with whether I would be able to safely cross the rural highway to get there myself.  Turned out both turned out normal.  While at breakfast the fog cleared up as expected so would be able to go shop for some necessities afterwards.  After returning, I  was in process of clearing out the car of purchases and a woodpecker flew into the garage.  Struggled with trying to convince the bird to fly low enough to exit out the garage door.  It seemed the bird was determined to stay in, flying above the garage door level only.  Definitely gave me lots of exercise trying to convince it otherwise.  Should have had someone videotape my attempts.  It probably would have gotten some laughs.   The little fella was probably just trying to stay out of the heat that we were experiencing, since after sundown it finally flew out on its own.

Fargo VA Trip Day

Started off a bit later than planned and with construction in Moorhead, Minnesota taking me way off course and hitting every red light, I ended arriving about 10 minutes late for the lab work, but was able to get that taken care of went to my second appointment about 30 minutes early.  The appointment started early and when I checked was checking out, I let the receptionist know that was done in record time, since I was checking out about 45 seconds after my appointment was scheduled.  I decided to see my primary and was lucky to get in since I had been suffering from ear infections on a number of occasions and the nurse took care of the problem.

I then decided to go to a local nutrition club in Dilworth, Minnesota and enjoyed a Bart Bar Shake with Skittles Tea and an aloe.

After which, I headed back with a short stop to visit what Frazee, Minnesota calls the largest turkey in the world.
